Humanity Showers at All Saints. Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, ‘Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land.’ Deuteronomy 15:11

All Saints’ Humanity Showers Team

The Humanity Showers ministry at All Saints’ is a powerful testament to the impact of identifying a need and responding with compassion. Karen Knieff, driven by a desire to serve those experiencing homelessness, recognized a critical need in our community and helped to coordinate the resources to meet it. On May 3, 2024 the ministry officially launched, offering dignity and care through access to showers twice a month. That first day, 11 individuals stepped into the mobile showers, leaving not just cleaner, but with renewed hope.

Since then, the ministry has flourished. What began as a twice-monthly effort has grown into a weekly service, providing showers, meals, and other essential resources to those in need. Week after week, this outreach reminds us of the transformative power of simple acts of kindness and the importance of meeting people where they are.

Showers are offered every Friday from 8am to 10am. Volunteer shift can start about 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after.

VOLUNTEER

The success of the Humanity Showers ministry at All Saints’ wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and compassion of our incredible volunteers. Every week, they show up to provide a warm welcome, distribute hygiene supplies, prepare meals, and ensure that everyone who comes through feels seen, valued, and cared for. From setting up shower stations to serving breakfast, these volunteers create a space of dignity and hope for those in need.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider joining the Humanity Showers team. Whether you can lend a hand once a month or more often, your time and energy make a real difference. Tasks range from helping with setup and cleanup to assisting with services like food service or distributing donated items. To learn more about how you can get involved, contact our volunteer coordinator, the church office or stop by during one of our shower days to see this ministry in action. Together, we can continue to extend compassion and care to those who need it most.

DONATE

Humanity Showers is a vital ministry that provides weekly showers, meals, haircuts, and other essential services to those in need. Your donations make this possible, helping us offer dignity, warmth, and care to individuals facing hardship. From hygiene supplies and warm clothing to hot meals and operating costs, every contribution directly supports this life-changing work.

You can donate in several ways—through our Amazon shopping list, which ships needed items directly to the church, or by making a financial donation that allows us to purchase exactly what’s needed. No matter the size, your gift helps ensure we can continue to meet the growing demand for these services and bring hope to our neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity!

** When sending packages to the church, please notify the office so we can watch for their arrival.

SERVICES PROVIDED

In addition to the showers, the following services are also available for our guests …

enTouch Wireless brings the federal Lifeline Assistance Program to All Saints'. Lifeline is an assistance program providing government cell phone service for free to eligible customers in low-income households. This program helps ease the burden of monthly phone bills for qualified individuals and their families by covering the cost of monthly data, texting, and monthly minutes. * You must qualify for this program. Stop by and talk to Felicia for more information.

San Diego Rescue Mission, operator of the Vista Navigation Center, joins us each Friday to make contacts and offer services such as identifying shelter/housing options, placement at the Vista Navigation Center, and a variety of other opportunities depending on the needs of the individual. Each individual must accept assistance by providing minimal information to help facilitate case management.

Other services include our amazing volunteer chefs who provide delicious home-cooked meals. Clothing and hygiene distribution, Vista Community Clinic, mobile Vet care, and art therapy. More services are joining as the word spread, so we expect the list to grow.

We would also like to recognize A New Faith Narcan Project who would provide free narcan doses. This medication is both expensive and life saving. Fortunately, the need has not been great among our guests so we don’t see them each week, but their contribution has been greatly appreciated.
