Introducing the Rev. Katherine Gordon

Winter greetings to you. It is wonderful to begin the new year in anticipation of soon joining the people of All Saints’ as your priest-in-charge. I look forward to meeting each of you, worship-ping together, and walking alongside you in ministry and service.

A little about my background... after graduating from our diocesan School for Ministry, I was or-dained to the diaconate in 2021 and began clergy life as a bi-vocational curate at St. Alban’s in El Cajon. Once ordained a priest and retired from my previous career in healthcare IT, Bishop Susan called me to St. Timothy’s in Rancho Peñasquitos, as interim rector. St. Timothy’s recently concluded their search for a new settled priest, and so it is also time for me to begin a new call. I am delighted by the oppor-tunity to join you in Vista. Having grown up mostly in San Diego, I’m very familiar with our diocese and many of the communities in San Diego County, but All Saints’ is new to me. The prospect of getting to know who you are, as a unique parish, and what you have to offer your broader community is exciting and energizing. There is wonderful work ahead.

Outside of church leadership, I enjoy learning about other faith traditions (my undergraduate degree was in Religion), studying the natural world (I hold a master’s degree in Geology), hiking, travel, and avoiding cooking. Fortunately, with family in Northern California and New York, I have opportunities to enjoy both coasts, as well as traveling between them.

In peace and joy,

Mtr Katherine
