Abraham Heschel was one of the 20th century's most influential Jewish theologians. He is credited with reviving the biblical prophets for modern times and revealing the prophets’ mysticism and activism. Heschel famously declared, "Prayer is meaningless unless it is subversive." His radical spirituality focused on the interior work that results in wonder, awe, radical amazement, and spiritual audacity.

Dan Miller is a father of three adult children, a spiritual guide, teacher, writer, mentor, and supervisor of spiritual directors-in-training. Dan is a pastoral theologian, retreat leader, and the founder and leader of a spiritual formation community (The Human & the Holy). Dan seeks to live as ”a soul in wonder.” His life-long passion and commitment are to help individuals and communities weave lives of spiritual depth. His work and hope are to join with others in incarnating and promoting spirituality with integrity — one that is oriented toward contemplative presence, compassionate action, the works of justice, mercy, peace, solidarity with the most vulnerable, and care for and kinship with the earth. Dan's spirituality includes oohing and aahing, laughter, and friends with whom he can walk the talk and talk the walk.
